Despite clearly visible consequences such as environmental destruction, exploitation, and mountains of textiles in post-colonial countries, the fashion industry continues to accelerate – also for designers.
In my work, I counter this speed:
New, painterly surfaces were created from recycled polyester sports jerseys.
Drawing on Madame Grès, childhood drawings were draped, shaped and transformed – as a reflection of my own biography and as a political positioning.
The work invites you to pause and rest in the folds.
