Description

This study explores how Misak culture and language can be taught to children aged eight to eleven at Colegio Andino (German School Bogotá, Colombia) through a digital serious game. It addresses the limited inclusion of Indigenous perspectives in Colombian education despite Colombia’s recognition as a multiethnic state since 1991. Based on four semi-structured interviews with Misak representatives and social science teachers, the study applied Kuckartz’s qualitative content analysis and identified three key dimensions: pedagogical-didactic, cultural, and technical-media. These findings informed the development of Misak Piurek – Hijos del agua, a serious game co-designed with the Misak community. The game integrates cultural elements, including the Misak spiral conception of time, and uses augmented reality to make abstract concepts accessible to children. The project contributes to decolonial education by fostering inclusive perspectives through culturally respectful digital media.
