Description
In the logic of digital media, catastrophe does not interrupt the flow of content – it becomes content itself. Images of destruction appear as part of an ongoing update. But what happens when this flow tips over? This project examines digital image culture through the metaphor of the construction site – as a place of the provisional and permanent restructuring. In contrast, for-you feeds do not refer to something finished, but to an archive in motion, in which content is continuously reformatted and reframed, while structure increasingly replaces content and formats themselves become visible. The catastrophe of the format does not only refer to the rupture of existing structures, but fundamentally questions whether its disembodied, standardized logic already hints at that disruption through which formatting, filtering, and perception themselves become the subject of design exploration.
