Zeitgeister is a photographic book of poetry that opens up a dialogue between generations. In the encounter between my grandmother’s poetry and my photographic works as well as questions, a visual and poetic approach emerges that challenges rigid ideas of relationship, identity and generational roles. Based on personal everyday observations, the book addresses topics such as body images, gender roles, discrimination, forms of relationships, normative social structures as well as the experiences of marginalized groups. The combination of poetry, questions and photography creates an open space for thought that enables connection and reflects social divisions.
