Description
At first glance, it appears to be an ordinary taper candle. But as soon as the candle is lit, a window of time is opened in which a balancing process takes place, much like what is known from an hourglass: a transition from remaining to past time occurs. The white wax of the candle thus stands for the remaining time, while a black carbon rod, which pushes upwards analogously to the burning candle, makes the past time visible. The flame of the candle therefore does not move further and further down as usual, but remains at the same height throughout the entire burning duration.
Thus, when using the object, this unexpected moment arises again and again, in which the candle does not burn down as usual, but the elapsed time becomes visible and an exact trace remains, an exact reversal of the future into the past.
The object is purely analog and is based on simple physical principles.
