Description
My project was a fabric collection in which I focused on embroidery to alter the texture of simple fabrics such as polyester or unbleached cotton.
In modern society, the value of fabrics is gradually being lost. This happened with the rise of fast fashion. We can buy and discard clothing almost endlessly. It wears out quickly, people do not always care for their clothes properly, and may wash and dry them incorrectly.
The idea behind my work is to use embroidery to make the fabric more complex and its texture richer. My goal is to give the fabric a higher value through embroidery — not in terms of its production, but through the feeling people get when looking at and touching the fabric. In this way, I want to encourage a more careful approach to the things we wear.
