UNDA brings free, open-ended play back into everyday urban life. The five-meter-long, wave-shaped seesaw functions as a sculptural object that arouses curiosity and intuitively invites interaction. Its adult-friendly dimensioning and varying widths expand classic seesawing to include completely new usage patterns: The spectrum ranges from lingering together and balancing to dynamic, collective sliding towards one another. While the undulating shape is the focus, a simply reduced base gives the object visual lightness. Integrated ground dampers and a sprung suspension reduce the speed during changes of direction – this provides maximum safety and reduces inhibitions. UNDA thus convinces as a threefold response to the challenges of modern cities: It connects generations, breaks up the commercialization of space, and, as a social movement island, makes a valuable contribution to physical and mental health prevention.
