Description

Textures encounter us everywhere. They are an integral part of nature and determine the physical surface quality of objects and materials.

The structure that was developed belongs to the auxetic structures. These are characterized primarily by their configuration and are material-independent. The special structure can expand transversely under tensile load and contract under pressure, in contrast to normal materials that shrink; this is achieved through its internal, lattice-like structure. This results in a mobility that is used for the further development of the texture.

The hierarchy of levels between texture and structure is directly interrelated and can be thought further and further. Each level influences the levels above it. This results in an interplay between structure and texture as well as texture and structure.
