Textile Science + Fiction

Description

Textiles are the material closest to humans and have accompanied their cultural development throughout history. As an aesthetic design discipline and cultural practice, textile design — situated between material design and user experience — holds the potential to both sensually experience and critically question the human-centered Anthropocene. For this reason, textiles are indispensable in the major narratives of the future.
This work discusses the use of artificial spider silk between this symbiotic experience of the world and a technology-based reconstruction of the environment.
