Description

The modular product system ‘ne(s)t’ creates new habitats for flying insects and birds on sealed surfaces by combining nesting sites and food sources within a flexible, stackable structure.
Four combinable modules made of recyclable ceramic can be adapted and configured to suit specific locations. Targeted planting and variable nesting inserts create species-appropriate habitats that connect isolated biotopes and promote genetic exchange.
The autonomous, low-maintenance system requires no additional watering and is fully circular. The combination of habitat and food, sustainable material use, and functional design makes ‘ne(s)t’ an innovative contribution to urban biodiversity.
The focus is not on human use but on the wellbeing of other living beings — an example of forward-looking, environment-centered design and ecological awareness in urban spaces.
