Description
The workshop concept “Stadt Land Bank” is aimed at adolescents and young adults and takes place in a youth center. Together, the participants design and build simple, functional furniture for public spaces, which is then installed locally. This creates visible impulses in the urban space that attract attention, arouse curiosity, and invite people to meet.
The aim is to encourage young people to actively shape their environment and experience self-efficacy. They experience their ideas becoming visible and unfolding a concrete impact. At the same time, the project increases the visibility of the youth center and addresses new target groups.
Another focus is on teaching manual skills. The constructions are deliberately kept simple and enable independent work.
The flexible format can be used in both urban and rural areas and is easily transferable to other youth and cultural locations.
