Description

In conditions of weightlessness and microgravity, astronauts face challenges such as muscle atrophy and loss of bone density. Current devices like treadmills or strength training machines are insufficient for long-duration space missions. Dynamic adaptive training methods that activate core muscles through targeted instability and improve coordination offer a promising solution.

I have developed a platform called ‘Alioth’ that simulates dynamic movements and provides astronauts with more effective training opportunities. It features a modular design, customizable training modes, and real-time feedback. Experimental studies conducted at the movement analysis lab of the University of Kassel’s Sports Institute show that Alioth can improve muscle activation and movement efficiency.
