how to really get to know Germans
Description
Each semester, around 370,000 young people from all over the world come to Germany to study. Many of them find it difficult to make contact with locals, as Germans are often perceived as distant and unapproachable.
The cross-media project Eindeutig Deutsch (‘Typically German’) helps international students to familiarise themselves with everyday German culture. A print guide offers entertaining insights into cultural peculiarities, regional differences, and social customs. In addition, an app provides opportunities for networking with German students, events, and leisure activities. The aim is to promote integration, reduce prejudice, and facilitate intercultural encounters.
Through a deliberately playful design, a low-threshold access is created that stands out from typical German design stereotypes. The project pursues social sustainability and strengthens the intercultural competence of both target groups in the long term.
