Description

The Sofia Hand is a myoelectric hand prosthesis that enables intuitive gripping through sensor technology and artificial intelligence. Unlike conventional prostheses, where users select grip types manually, here an intelligent system automatically determines the appropriate gripping strategy. Triangularly arranged LIDAR sensors continuously detect the shape, distance, and structure of objects in the close range of the palm. An AI processes this data in real time and assigns suitable grips such as precision, key, or cylinder grip. The process is oriented toward natural movements and reduces the cognitive load. The Sofia Hand recognizes objects and executes movements independently, making actions more fluid. It combines functionality with a minimalist, robust design. Fingers are 3D-printed flat and shaped, which accelerates production and increases stability. The modular system sets new standards.
