Description

The project Shifting Values is an experimental repair approach that lends new value and uniqueness to damaged and seemingly worthless pieces of furniture. Inspired by textile darning techniques, the objects are reconnected, stabilized, and expanded through a weaving technique made of rattan (rattancane). The special property of the material to form structurally stable shapes makes it possible not only to replace missing or defective areas, but to upgrade them in terms of design. In this way, hybrid objects are created that perceive repair as a visible and aesthetic process.
