Observation rooms in acute psychiatry are heavily designed for safety and leave little room for self-determination. At the same time, autonomy is central to stabilization. This project examines how safety and self-efficacy can be combined. In a co-participatory process with patients and specialist staff, new scope for action emerged within strict requirements. The result is three objects: The Light, The Hook and The Seating Option, each with its own possibilities for influence.
