A promenadological and design-based exploration of Saarbrücken’s city centre districts, focusing on architecture, social movements, forgotten crafts and cultural diversity through porcelain design and souvenir creation.
With the acquired methodology, I can apply the research process in the field of research design to other cities, regions or countries.
I also developed a technique to improve souvenir design in porcelain production. In doing so, I analysed and revised the traditional and less sustainable manufacturing method of the plaster expansion mould in order to enable more controlled production of undercut objects. Another feature of the plaster moulds is the easy interchangeability of the plaster segments, which allows for more sustainable use.
In the service sector, various design elements can be combined to create individual unique pieces using a modular system.
