Description

Raum-Klima-Wandel is a modular design concept for energy-efficient indoor climate control. The combined evaporative cooling system is based on the physical principle of adiabatic cooling and requires neither electrical energy nor environmentally harmful refrigerants.

The scalable system can be used in various spatial typologies as a wall panel, partition, or free-standing object, and can be combined in different patterns. The elements are produced using a casting process from stoneware and fired at low temperatures to preserve porosity. Their double-shell structure creates a continuous cooling effect with low water consumption and allows for the combination of various clay colours. The construction enables the replacement of individual components and pure-grade recycling into the material cycle.

Raum-Klima-Wandel offers a resource-conserving alternative to conventional air-conditioning systems, focusing on aesthetics, materiality, and configurability.
