Description
The pop up FIXation is a mobile bicycle self-repair workshop that uses a cargo bike to bring tools and repair materials directly into public spaces. After the temporary closure of the ‘radraum’ — a self-repair workshop and meeting place for bicycle culture in Offenbach — the need arose to ensure its continuation through pop-up events.
From this experience, a modular workshop cart was developed, featuring clear aesthetics, robust materials, and simple handling, offering low-threshold repair options.
Beyond repairs, pop up FIXation fosters an open, inclusive environment where people can learn from one another, share knowledge, and actively engage in their community.
By simplifying access to bicycle repairs, the project promotes sustainable urban mobility and social participation. It demonstrates how design, mobility, and civic engagement can contribute to an environmentally friendly, connected city.
