Normativität und Aberration archetypischer Schmucktypologien
Description
This work explores how deviation — the flawed, the unfamiliar — can be used as a design principle. Phenomena from various (natural) scientific disciplines are analysed and their essence is transferred to jewellery. The starting point of the design is familiar or iconic jewellery classics, which are altered and reinterpreted through deliberate interventions. The spectrum of design modifications ranges from subtle, barely noticeable changes to a complete detachment from the original model.
The basis includes biological mutations, social divergence, physical anomalies, and digital glitches. Through these disruptions, familiar forms are broken apart in order to make norms visible, question them, and open up new perspectives in design practice.
