(No) Hard Feelings looks at the metal scene from a critical fan perspective and focuses on aspects that are often not the first associations outsiders have with metal and that can also make fans reflect on their own subculture: expressions and living out of queerness through metal-typical aesthetics, the scene-internal handling of supposedly “apolitical” attitudes, as well as the role that metal plays as an emotional outlet for fans.
On five battle jackets, which serve as publication and presentation surfaces for images and texts, patches related to these thematic areas are collected. The important role of manual labor and DIY techniques becomes visible in the manufacturing process.
