Description

A letter tilts – depending on the perspective, a still readable character or already pure form. „On the Edge: Revealing the Unseen” uses the outline as a tool to examine writing: its contour is extruded, individual segments into modular, 3D-printed objects that are stacked – between function and abstraction.

The starting point is the thesis that contours reveal hidden patterns in society, nature and culture. An outline is essentially nothing more than the silhouette that defines the shape of an artifact. Applied to writing, it makes visible when a letter still functions as a character and when it tilts into an abstract form.

The 3D objects are part of an expansive installation/exhibition that plays through this thesis across several dimensional levels: from 2D screen-printed posters to textiles and the spatial arrangement itself, a walk-in experimental setup on the border between form and emptiness, the visible and the invisible.
