Description

In many cities, anonymity, efficiency and consumption shape public space. Spontaneous interpersonal encounters are becoming rarer, even though the need for social resonance remains. ‘meet me halfway’ is an invitation to connect – right in the midst of urban hustle and bustle. With an eye for shared moments and the potential for non-verbal interactions, the objects invite people to perceive one another and strengthen the sense of community in everyday life. The elevated lookout funnels encourage a conscious shift in perspective. They frame the view and enable unexpected eye contact between strangers. The four-person seesaw invites playful interaction and creates situations where shared moments become possible amid urban detachment. At the heart of it lies the question of how design can act as a catalyst for interpersonal resonance.
