Description

SUMO is a 2.80 m tall, pink creature – an oversized, soft fabric sculpture that invites people to pause and relax. SUMO combines playful monumentality with the idea of idleness and raises the question: why is it so difficult for us to do nothing? With its striking presence in semi-public spaces (such as offices, libraries, or universities), it creates a visible space for relaxation and encourages people to take breaks without shame.

Thanks to its flexible construction, with carabiners on the ears and loops on the legs, it can be positioned in various ways and connected to its surroundings. SUMO can serve as a chair, a footrest, a lounger, and much more. More than a piece of furniture, SUMO is a statement for the necessity of doing nothing in a society that prioritises productivity above all else.
