This work deals with the knot as a cultural-historical, technical and design phenomenon. The multidisciplinary methodology of the work makes it possible to view the knot not only as a technical aid, but as a universal structural model that combines functional, symbolic and social dimensions. Through the combination of theory, experiment and design, a transdisciplinary approach is achieved that makes the knot tangible as a principle on various levels.
The result is a jewelry collection in a modular system made of 925 silver, in which all individual parts are compatible with each other, and wall hooks, 3D printed in aluminum using the laser sintering process, with interchangeable hangers, each inspired by the functional and formal principle of the square knot.
