Description
Living on the Edge moves within the tension field between art, design, and space. The work explores how objects can take on different meanings through material, context, and perception. The focus is on a series of works that combines textiles, wood, and porcelain, thereby relating opposites such as soft and hard, flexible and stable, or familiar and surprising to one another.
Through textile techniques such as weaving, printing, dyeing, and quilting, seating, wall, and spatial objects are created that oscillate between furniture and sculpture, function and free form. They are intended as interior elements, yet they elude a clear assignment and open up new perspectives on usage, materiality, and space.
The practical work is accompanied by a theoretical examination of function, author, and context. Design is understood not only as problem-solving, but as a medium for meaning, atmosphere, and reflection.
