Description

‘I’ve found something to pour into the cracks of my brittle heart’ is dedicated to the joy of being in nature and translates these impressions into a fashion collection. As objects worn directly on the skin that influence the relationship between body and environment, the collection aims to encourage the connection of rationality with the knowledge that arises from sensing one’s surroundings. Personal perceptions of natural scenes blend with observations of bodies in functional clothing. These are referenced in details and cuts and, inspired by historical hiking garments, realised in wool fabrics and complemented by silk and cotton. Through material treatments such as dry felting and shaping, the collection draws on the structures and depths of the environment, embedding the body in its atmospheres. The result is an exploration of connectedness — whether to nature, the material, or the process itself.
