In Germany, over four million people suffer from heart failure — and the number is rising. According to medical staff at the Heart and Diabetes Centre NRW, effective treatment often fails because patients do not consistently follow their therapy plans. Based on interviews with those affected and developed in close collaboration with specialists, XIN SHENG — a system combining a user-friendly app with smart hardware — was created. It supports patients in their daily lives by providing easy access to their therapy plans, personalised reminders, and motivating feedback. XIN SHENG (‘new birth’ or ‘heart sounds’) symbolises a new beginning with the illness: it strengthens personal responsibility, helps establish healthy routines, and sustainably improves the quality of life for people with chronic heart conditions.
