GEOGRAPHIA examines how geographic changes influence human behavior – and how our behavior in turn shapes cities. The starting point is the question of how different emotional memories of places can be preserved, even though urban spaces are constantly changing. To achieve this, the project combines systemic thinking, futures research, and speculative design with a participatory workshop format. The participants map Berlin across the time dimensions of the past, present, and future, making connections between climate, architecture, mobility, and social change visible. From these findings, the speculative platform “Future Feeling” emerges, which archives and makes emotional relationships to places tangible, independent of their physical existence. The project translates complex urban interactions into an understandable, interactive design and opens up new perspectives for the design of livable cities.
