Description

Forest Tales examines different perspectives on the forest in a documentary and object-oriented way. The focus is on alternative forms of forest use that go beyond conventional, wood-focused management and demonstrate the potential of diversified use. Using non-wood products such as venison and tree beekeeping, the project explores the social, cultural, and ecological relationships that shape the forest. The resulting food products are understood as an expression of cultural practice and as carriers of ecological knowledge. Research trips and interviews with experts form the basis for the development of a smoking oven and a log hive. The objects translate the insights gained into tangible situations and make practices visible that often remain hidden. Making things visible thus becomes a design principle.
