In view of the increasing heat in cities, the preservation of young trees is essential, but up to 40% of new plantings do not survive the first five years. Conventional methods merely treat symptoms, leave behind harmful residues, and condition the tree incorrectly by preventing the development of its own stability.

This work presents a textile planting system. A textile body made of hemp and sheep’s wool encloses the root ball. This geometry guides irrigation water specifically into the depths. This encourages the tree to follow the water reserves downwards. An adaptive watering ring then lies flat as a protective layer over the root ball. In this way, evaporation is effectively stopped.

The material concept uses sheep’s wool as a reservoir: the fibers bind moisture and release nitrogen as they decompose. The object is geared towards the growth phase. It stabilizes and nourishes the tree before finally dissolving without leaving any residue. It fo
