“The Nature within you” deals with participation and how it can sustainably promote the social as well as cultural development of public spaces. Using the example of Worringer Platz in Düsseldorf, it was investigated how cultural upgrading measures can contribute to sustainable urban development and how the square has developed historically. Based on interviews with actors from city administration, welfare, culture, and civil society, the developments on site were examined and exhibited in connection with an interactive mirror installation that could be co-designed by the visitors at the exhibition. In the process, different usage demands were localized and recorded in the form of a book. The work combines urban research with participatory design and addresses participation in the city, as well as its sustainable development at the interface of urban planning, art, and participation.
