Description

Topic: The bachelor’s thesis deals with social inequality and the question of how different realities of life can be made tangible. By juxtaposing foreign and one’s own realities of life, global differences become visible and the gaze is directed toward self-evident aspects of one’s own everyday life.

The goal is to promote empathy for other realities of life and to create an awareness of social inequality through a change of perspective. In doing so, neither moral lecturing nor feelings of guilt are in the foreground, but rather the reflection of one’s own reality of life in the context of other life worlds.

Method: The narrative-based design approach translates numbers, facts, and statistics into an interactive web story. Through visual and content-related comparisons, global realities of life are made tangible. The complexity of the topic is also reflected in the design, which works with overlapping levels and layers.
