Description
DAMDA is a ceramic tableware collection that combines the aesthetics of traditional Korean earthenware with the breakfast cultures of Germany and Korea.
Based on my personal experience of being born in Korea and living in Germany for more than a decade, the project reflects an identity shaped by both cultures.
Both German and Korean breakfasts embody distinct identities, cultures, and rituals.
By integrating these dining cultures into Korean-style ceramics, I created objects that feel both unfamiliar and familiar at the same time.
Their soft forms, tactile surfaces, and functional arrangements encourage cultural exchange through the everyday act of sharing a meal.
Rather than emphasizing differences, DAMDA explores how design can create emotional connections between tradition, lifestyle, and people.
The collection becomes a bridge between my two homes Korea and Germany.
