Description
Circular Speaker offers an alternative to many current portable speakers, which are often difficult to repair and recycle due to glued joints and composite materials. The potential of many devices remains largely untapped — their often short lifespan stands in contrast to the relevance and durability of their underlying technical foundation.
The project aims to significantly extend product life through a repair-friendly, transparent housing design. The housing is modular and can be fully disassembled using only two Allen keys. All electronic components are clearly arranged on a mainboard — following the principle: screws instead of glue.
The design is based on an analysis of current speaker models and multiple user tests, and offers a perspective on how redesigned products can promote more sustainable use of electronic devices and, in turn, contribute to reducing electronic waste.
