Description

Filters, influencers, and extreme image editing on social networks create body ideals that barely exist biologically. Studies show that girls begin to critically evaluate their bodies as early as primary school age. ButterBodies starts exactly here.

The project is an analog card game that makes self-acceptance learnable through play. 52 reflection cards and 12 challenges create a safe framework to talk about body images, self-perception, and beauty norms — without overwhelming therapeutically.

The format is aimed at girls, adolescents, and young adults, as well as professionals in youth work. It deliberately guides away from digital speed into the here and now, playfully focuses on inner values, and lowers the inhibition threshold to address personal topics.

ButterBodies was funded by the Aufwind Foundation and printed in an edition of 400 copies.
