Description

DYSFEMINA is a fragmented, photographic visualization of the female body in androcentric medicine. The main components of the work are statements by predominantly male personalities who shaped medicine and gynecology, just as they formed and reflected a general, societal view of women. The photographs and cyanotypes reveal the brutality with which the female sex was viewed and treated as abnormal. DYSFEMINA appears in the form of a book that spans 144 pages with 61 digital photographs and cyanotypes and 33 quotes.
