Description

Baumstamm is a connector system for children that enables creative building with natural materials such as sticks and branches. It consists of six main modules and matching screws that can be flexibly combined. The different shapes of the main modules allow for the construction of a wide variety of structures using branches up to 3 cm in diameter. Branches can be lined up, arranged in a cross shape, at a 90-degree angle, or in a tipi-like form.
The visit to a forest kindergarten was particularly influential during development. The pedagogical approach focuses on stimulating children’s creativity with as few predetermined elements as possible, using almost exclusively natural play materials such as sticks, stones, branches, leaves, and soil. Baumstamm is designed to encourage children to play more with natural materials, actively explore their environment, and develop creativity, fine motor skills, and an awareness of nature.
