In Aus dem Vollen schöpfen* *oder: why collecting is also a motion of scooping is also making paper by hand, I explore the process of filmmaking paper by hand. I have documented the traces that this action has left in my thinking. In the individual steps of production, an analogy has emerged between the physical method and my understanding of work as a designer and author.
The publication is – as a whole – an essayistic work about work, process chains, analog craft, and my hands. About sources, and taking from them what can still be used. And it is a work about writing, finding words, and becoming an image. On the pages, my own observations combine with quotes from the working processes of other authors and borrowed words from my ongoing collection. In reading, they interweave like the fibers of the sheets I newly scooped, from which the screen-printed cover clip is made.
