Description

The project ‘Anthroporosities’ explores themes of a return to archaic materials and manufacturing processes, sustainability, and connection to nature. The tiles for this project are made from wild-harvested clay, fired in a wood-fueled kiln, using exclusively local and natural resources.

The porous tiles not only provide a visual enhancement to the space by reflecting the aesthetics of local soils, but also actively contribute to the room’s climate. Due to their ability to absorb and release moisture, they help regulate indoor humidity. Additionally, integrated plant pots increase the oxygen level in the air and create a habitat for beneficial microorganisms.

‘Anthroporosities’ aims to bring contact with nature and natural materials back into our modern, often sterile, living spaces. The use of tiles made from porous ceramics allows the benefits of natural materials to be easily and modularly integrated into everyday urban life.
