ver(f)altet

Description

The project “ver(f)altet” deals with the textile representation of skin wrinkles, especially facial and hand wrinkles, as well as age spots. The fashion collection, consisting of a total of four outfits, makes skin wrinkles wearable and allows them to be experienced on one’s own body. This creates a positive engagement with the negatively charged topic of aging.

The textiles show irreversible wrinkles that are already integrated into the textile structure. The choice of colors emphasizes the wide spectrum of skin tones and presents them in an exaggerated way in order to bring the fine color nuances of skin aging to the fore.

The project encourages people not to correct or cover up the wrinkles caused by our emotions and facial expressions, but rather to laugh, cry, or frown a lot. The resulting skin wrinkles may be proudly presented and are a wonderful sign of a life lived.
