Vaporated Time
Communication of the Climate Crisis Through the Design of a Time Experience Object Using the Example of the River Elbe
Description
a“Vaporated Time” is a master's thesis on the topics of time and climate. With the help of design-theoretical texts, time is presented as a cultural technique that can be shaped. The installation “Vonjeher” is a new object for experiencing time. In the installation, which is open to the public, points in time and periods of time are determined by weather and climate change. The problem, which is that people cannot shape a life with climate change without knowing everyday information about the state of the climate, is counteracted by theoretical preliminary work and the installation design.
