Description
Therapy becomes suitable for everyday use when it can be reliably repeated. Obesity is chronic and relapsing; therapy adherence remains challenging. VagaKey transfers vagus nerve stimulation at the ear (taVNS) into a wearable, non-invasive, headphone-like system with monitoring for weight management. Like turning a key, it is inserted and turned until it clicks into the end position. This enables clearer alignment and more stable contact: for precise positioning and reliable stimulation contact. Support areas and an ear-canal-free wearing concept were developed from ear data, 1:1 3D scans, prototypes, and interviews, and evaluated in user tests as well as medically. Haptic operation without visual control and replaceable eartips increase comfort. This creates a reliable therapy routine suitable for everyday use: VagaKey does not rely on more willpower, but on a design that facilitates correct and regular use.
