LINQ is a cooperation with MAN Truck & Bus SE, in which the working conditions of long-haul truck drivers are addressed through semi-autonomous vehicles and teleoperation. Vehicles can temporarily be controlled from a local office, meaning drivers are no longer tied to rest areas or cabins and gain access to better infrastructure as well as family-friendlier working hours. At the same time, driverless sections on highways enable faster deliveries and relieve rest facilities. The vehicle design focuses on aerodynamics: an optimized airflow between the tractor unit and trailer as well as a paneled underbody sustainably reduce energy consumption.
