Description
Surfaces define our public space, but usually remain passive in the background in terms of their function. “Trigon Matter” is an adaptive facade system in which surfaces are made usable as active environmental and energy sources. The individual modules are based on triangular geometry, which gives the three-dimensional form maximum stability. The enlarged surface area is optimized in reaction with light and air, while simultaneously enabling a stable and scalable structure. A multi-layer system of nanostructured, photocatalytic coatings and integrated photovoltaics serves to reduce pollutants and generate energy. The system is designed for installation on existing surfaces and infrastructures such as facades or noise barriers. In this way, urban spaces are reactivated and transformed into ecological usable areas.
