Description
Tags — the most original form of graffiti. They are a sign of human presence and an expression of identity that each of us wants to leave behind nowadays — not only physically, but also virtually.
Each of us now possesses two identities, often without realising it. We want to preserve a part of our identity and pass it on to future generations. In contrast, the analogue form of tagging is only contemporary, fleeting, and not eternal. They fade, disappear, are removed or crossed out. This was precisely the reason and motivation to capture them.
In order to create a sense of place and uniqueness without merely producing copies of the artworks through photography, I still wanted the locations to play a role. This is where my second fascination came into play: reflections. Clues to the places where I found the tags. Places that were once lively and are now abandoned.
Would a world without tags be one without a soul? …
