How can I transfer the empowering feeling of a place into a wearable object?
Whenever I arrive at a new place, the first thing I do is look for a spot in nature. Having such a place that I can go to whenever I want creates a sense of security and familiarity. Thus, these places become constant companions, charged with the respective experiences and emotions of the moment.
During my bachelor’s thesis, I dealt with both my own places and those of other people. In the series “To Carry with You”, I let myself be inspired by the structures of the respective places in order to abstract them in the subsequent working process.
The entire working process is guided by both intuition and reacting to the inspiring structures of the respective places.
The resulting brooches invite people to use them to remember their own empowering places and to carry them with them.
