Why do the many possibilities of our time lead to so much short-livedness?
Timeline examines the zeitgeist in the tension between consumer culture and design and formulates a conscious counter-position.
Starting from a present shaped by acceleration, overwhelm, and constant consumption, the project understands design as a tool to promote quality, longevity, and more conscious choices. At the same time, it conceives design as a cultural practice that can make visions of the future visible, discuss them, and actively help shape them.
This attitude manifests itself in an armchair that is understood not only as a handcrafted object, but as a symbolic carrier of a vision.
To stimulate a rethink in the relationship between human, object, and nature and to conceive design as a means to actively and positively help shape the present and future and to visualize visions that carry a more enduring image of the future.
