Description

In a time when design processes are increasingly optimized and rationalized, The Joy of Making examines the value of open making. Three pieces of foldable furniture emerged from a free process, their constructions not determined in advance but developing during the design stage. Enthusiasm for materials, movements, and constructive details became the compass of the process.

Instead of reducing complexity, the project makes it visible. Folds, tensions, and mechanisms remain understandable and invite interaction. The furniture reveals its functionality through use and shows how understandable solutions can arise from experiment, material dialogue, and craftsmanship curiosity. The Joy of Making understands design as a process in which meaning is not exclusively planned, but unfolds in the making itself.
