In the design process, numerous decisions have to be made – often under time pressure. It is important to evaluate ideas, discard options and thus find the best solution. This is exactly what makes designers vulnerable to choice overload. The more options there are, the higher the cognitive effort to make a decision – until you are finally exhausted and can no longer make a decision at all.
With 15 interdisciplinary decision-making methods from different areas such as business administration, philosophy and psychology, the toolkit »tbd« offers a lifeline. The humorously designed card set makes it easier for designers to access this often stressful topic. An accompanying workbook creates space for an in-depth analysis and reflection on one’s own decision-making behavior. In this way, »tbd« combines scientific methodology with design lightness and helps designers to remain capable of acting in complex situations.
